ABOUT THE FESTIVAL


The Leeds Jewish International Performing Arts Festival is unique in Western Europe and presents five electrifying days of high quality international entertainment, eagerly awaited by audiences of thousands.


Now a major cultural event in the city of Leeds, 30 performances of Drama, Music, Comedy and Dance are staged under the banner of the Festival, which is now in its 8th year.


With an average of 6 shows per day, three theatres are used at the multi - venue site of The Carriageworks.


With its "Edinburgh Fringe" style programming, the Festival offers an outstanding array of Jewish related performances, including alternative acts which seek to challenge the audience's senses. The Festival also premieres brand new performances and films.


The event is organized by Makor Charitable Trust, the Jewish Culture Office for Leeds & Yorkshire, who also produce and promote other cultural events throughout the year, in addition to activities for the Jewish Holidays.


The Festival is the largest scale event of the year that Makor undertake.
